Vancouver Canucks Diwali Night, 2023/2024

Celebrating Diwali with the Vancouver Canucks. Diwali is the celebration of the triumph of light over darkness, and this guided the creation of the artwork. The themes of Diwali are universal and I wanted the artwork to reflect that. I leaned into the paisley, as it has origins in South Asia and now can be seen across many different cultures. I also fused the peacock with a phoenix to signify rebirth and renewal. This gave the artwork more energy and made the story of Diwali more accessible to a wider audience.

The Diwali logo is based on the original Canucks skate logo and I also designed the stick-in-rink logo. A speciality merchandise collection was released for the celebratory day and it included a specialty Diwali jersey.
