5X Creative Direction, 2021

Creative direction for the stage experience and merchandise for 5X Fest 2021. 5X is an arts festival pushing the boundaries and elevating South Asian youth culture, hosted in Vancouver, Canada. 

I was tasked to create a stage for 5X music festival. I wanted to create an escape as the festival was taking place during covid and restrictions had loosened. Everyone was longing for an escape and this led to the idea of bringing the outside, inside. I did this through traditional South Asian window lattice patterns. Scaling these up for the backdrop and projecting visuals gave the viewers (and artists) a brief moment to escape.
